A Very Happy Blue Day!!!

Hello everyone!!! One this post; it's baby talk! 
Having a baby is one of the most amazing experiences in the world. 
They are beautiful gifts from God and in such must be celebrated with gratitude.
Now...in our part of the world, we don't have baby showers.
 What we do have, are Naming Ceremonies ("Suna" In Hausa). 
A Naming Ceremony is basically an event where the family chooses a name for the 
Newborn baby (after 7 days),
 slaughters a Ram and invites friends and loved ones to celebrate the birth of the new addition to the family. 
Naming Ceremonies are both religious and traditional. 
These days.... fancy too!

It was a very Special Blue Day.
 The cake was Red Velvet (for the bottom tier) and 
Chocolate Cake for the top tier! With Fondant Icing! 
 Cute Cup cakes with buttercream swirls and a "It a boy" topper. Some of the cupcakes had little white fondant cutouts of baby bottles, baby pram and diaper bags on blue buttercream. Yum!
We also had lollies, candies and bubble gums! (blue or white of course) 
 The garage totally transformed into a beautiful blue sitting area. 
With Blue fitted seat covers, balloons and a vase center piece.
 Simple but elegant draped fabric decor to hide the doors and windows in the garage.
 Blue "It's a boy" favors and souvenir gift bags.
 We also used white, here and there to help pop out that blue color. 
White candies in blue bowls.... 
 White Table covers, white draped fabric...it really brought the blue!
 Yummy Goodies table!!!
It was so much fun making...as was the party. Everyone had a swell time!!!
God Bless Muhammed Al-Ameen...That's the baby's beautiful name...God Bless Him.

B.Day Cakes


Birthday cakes with butter cream frosting is still very popular and that is because folks still love the homey tasty, sweet creamy, yummy appeal the butter cream frosting has over fondant,whip cream and royal icing(do people still eat that?? Royal icing? i don't think so) 
Any who! We always get requests, for it.

Even when they want candies or cookies on the cake. Butter cream is their 1st choice.
Some folks even want Fondant characters or flowers on the cake but Butter cream....
Yes! is still what they want 

As the base frosting of their cake! 
Butter cream frosting is especially yummy on Cup cakes. 

                     
 From time to time..we get orders for cakes without icing
 or with just icing sprinkles. 
Oh! may i add that we also make sugar free cakes.

Cake Seminar!!! Come and Gone.....

The Cake seminar we have been posting on Facebook and plastering on Twitter, BBM and Watsup! Actually on social network or instant messenger outlet we were there...Lol! 
Like all great things, Has come and gone! 
We are so grateful to God for making it a success! 5 cakes and 4 frosting in 5hrs plus students trying their hand on the baking and icing of the cake. That was just sheer joy to me! 
The ladies seem very happy and i have a feeling will continue to bake for a long time plus i also gave them homework to be delivered in a week's time( Ladies do your assignments O!) so i pray their cakes will turn out great. 

 What i did basically, was to teach them how to know the measurements(using a measuring cup and spoon), how to work the oven and how to read and understand any recipe! I told the ladies, once they can read & understand a recipe with whatever measurement given, is like you have unlock the gate to a secret world! A beautiful world of fluffy whipped cream, coffee chiffon cakes, buttercream frosting swirls on a vanilla cupcakes, red velvet and cheese frosting, chocolate ganache on moist chocolate cake ........it's just a fun yummy world to be in!
I also taught them the different types of cakes and frosting. Basic cake recipes and their variations....... starting from Pound Cakes to Chiffon cakes.
 Arrival time was 11 am, Seminar started by 12 pm. Took a break and had a delicious lunch and delightful (Mocktails not Cocktails Lol)drinks. Came back by 2.30pm  and finished the class by 6 pm.
We are all in high spirits and very happy! Can't wait to have another seminar soon! xxx
